Low on energy? Well, coffee’s not the answer, and if you’ve got 5 minutes to spare (that’s generally the time it will take to make a cup of coffee anyway) then you’re in luck – we can use that time to make a healthy, energy-filled smoothie!
These smoothie recipes will have you going from zero to hero in no time and it will take very little of your time: 5 minutes maximum
Aside from a little time, you will also need a blender/food processor and the ingredients that each recipe requires.
This simply titled berry smoothie is a combination of blackberries, blueberries and cherries amongst other nutritious goodies.
Blackberries for their great source of Vitamin C & Manganese.
Blueberries for their high antioxidant levels.
Cherries are known to reduce muscle pain.
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup cherries
- 1 banana
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tablespoon flax oil
- 1 teaspoon honey
- a dash of cinnamon
Blend the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Aside from the obvious energy benefits strawberries also do the following for your body: protects your heart, increases good cholesterol, lowers your blood pressure and guards against cancer.
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1/2 a frozen banana, sliced
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup
Mix all of the ingredients in your blender, and adjust sweetener to taste (if desired).
The Green One
This is a green smoothie.
A word of warning to the inexperienced, green smoothies might not taste as good on the palate as the other smoothies, but they are oh so good for your body – why do you think the hulk has a green hue? It’s because he’s been drinking his green smoothies religiously!
- 1/2 a cucumber, peeled and sliced
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1 handful of kale
- 1 apple, peeled and sliced
- 1 pear, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Mix all of the ingredients together in your blender, if it comes out a bit thick – pour a bit of water in to dilute it.
Any of these smoothies should give you enough energy to last the day (and maybe even the next day).
Make it a habit whenever you feel like your body needs that little bit of pep!
